IBM at MWC Barcelona: Enterprises Must Begin Quantum-Safe Migration Now
March 4, 2026 · Barcelona, Spain · IBM, Armonk, NY
At Mobile World Congress 2026, IBM argued that enterprises cannot wait for utility-scale quantum computers to begin post-quantum cryptography migration --- projecting that harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks are already a present-day threat. IBM's quantum-safe roadmap centers on the three NIST-finalized post-quantum standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA) and its joint solution with Palo Alto Networks, which became generally available in January 2026. The company urged organizations to complete cryptographic inventories and begin hybrid migration in 2026, noting that full enterprise transitions typically take two to five years.
