Featured recap

Northwest Quantum Day 2026

On April 14, Northwest Quantum Nexus hosted its inaugural Northwest Quantum Day in Seattle, drawing government, industry, and academic leaders from across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana to mark World Quantum Day. Washington Lt. Governor Denny Heck opened the summit, and NVIDIA's Dr. Krysta Svore closed it with a keynote on the future of quantum-AI integration. The day's biggest headline came from Governor Bob Ferguson, who announced $500,000 in state funding to support the expansion of IonQ's quantum computing manufacturing facility in Bothell — an investment expected to help create up to 2,000 regional jobs. Panels throughout the day tackled workforce development, post-quantum cybersecurity, and the investment landscape for quantum technology, underscoring the region's push to position itself as a leading hub in the emerging quantum economy. The event, co-hosted by K&L Gates, was the largest gathering in NQN's history.
